Track & Field Concludes Michigan Invitational

Ann Arbor, Michigan- The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field team competed in day two of the Michigan Invitational on Jan. 27. After a long two days on the track amongst tough competition the Oilers had several top eight finishes.  
 
Top Finishes Men- 
  • Mondra Curry (JR) finished fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 13.99m 
  • Nick Rice (GR) finished eighth in the 60m hurdle finals with a time of 8.49. Rice also took eighth place in the 400m dash with a time of 49.93 
  • Josh Verhoff (GR) took third place in the 60m dash finals with a time of 6.83. Verhoff also took second place in the 200m dash with a time of 21.42. With these times Verhoff matches the NCAA Provisional Standards in both races 
 
Top Finishes Women- 
  • Kassandra Stine (JR) finished eighth in high jump with a mark of 1.56m 
  • Trista Fintel (JR) took sixth place in shot put with a mark of 14.47m which matches the NCAA Provisional Standard 
  • Madison Myers (SR) took sixth place in the triple jump with a distance of 10.95m. Morgan Allman (JR) finished seventh with a mark of 10.67m and Katelyn Heath (SO) clinched eighth with a mark of 10.65m 
  • Victoria Harvey (FR) took first place in pole vault with a mark of 3.85m. Tru Buddenberg (FR) finished third with a mark of 3.85m. Both Harvey and Buddenberg matched the NCAA Provisional Standards  
  • Jordan Taylor (SR) finished seventh place in the 60m dash finals with a time of 7.72. Taylor also finished sixth in the 200m dash with a time of 24.76 matching the NCAA Provisional Standard 
  • Kylie Ray (SR) finished eighth in the 400m dash with a time of 57.68 
  • The 4x400m relay team consisting of Taylor Ivory (JR), Jordan Taylor (SR), Mary Ellis (FR), and Kylie Ray (SR) placed third with a time of 3:51.07 which matches the NCAA Provisional Standard 
  • Maddie Alexander (SR) took eighth place in the indoor pentathlon with a score of 2811 
 
The Oilers will travel to Ashland, Ohio on Feb. 2 to compete in the two-day Jud Logan Light Giver Open.
