Findlay Concludes Various Track Meets

Long Beach, Calif. / Tiffin, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field team wrapped up their long weekend of competition on Saturday April 13. The Oilers competed in day three of the Bryan Clay Invitational, as well as day two of the Beach Invitational and Tiffin Track Carnival.  
 
Bryan Clay Invitational 
Top Results Men- 
  • Alex Mutchler (SR) finished sixth in pole vault with a mark of 4.75m 
Top Results Women- 
  • Lindsey Kluesener (GR) finished fifth in pole vault "A" with a mark of 3.87m, meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard.  
  • Tru Buddenberg (FR) finished fourth in pole vault "B" with a mark of 3.72m 
  • Natalie Newton (SO) finished fifth in pole vault "C" with a mark of 3.57m  
Beach Invitational 
Top Results Women-  
  • Trista Fintel (JR) finished ninth in shot put with a mark of 15.05m. Fintel also placed twenty-second in discus throw with a distance of 47.66m, meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard mark in both events.  
Tiffin Track Carnival 
Top Results Men- 
Top Results Women- 
  • Jordan Taylor (SR) won the 100m dash with a time of 11.65 meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard. With this time Taylor ties the 22-year-old record held by Tanea Green. Leah Smith (FR) finished fifth with a time of 11.91. 
  • Mary Ellis (FR) finished fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 57.00 
  • Anna Heren (FR) took third in the 1,500m run with a time of 5:03.38 
  • Bella Treglia (SO) finished fourth in the 5,000m run with a time of 19:26.95 
  • Kylie Ray (SR) finished second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.47 
  • The 4x200m relay team consisting of Leah Smith (FR), Taylor Ivory (JR), Kylie Ray (SR), and Jordan Taylor (SR) finished first with a time of 1:39.91. With this time, they set a new record crushing the previous 30-year-old record. 
  • Brooke Coulter (SR) took fourth in shot put with a mark of 13.06m. Coulter also finished fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 51.33m 
 
The Oilers will be back in action Friday April 19 as they travel to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the two-day Jesse Owens Track & Field Classic.
