Oilers Compete in Day One of the Jesse Owens Classic

Columbus, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field team traveled to compete in day one of the Jesse Owens Classic hosted by The Ohio State University. After day one the Oilers had several notable finishes. 
 
Top Results Men
  • Isaac Webb (SR) finished eleventh in the javelin throw with a distance of 44.97m 
  • Orry Willems (SR) took second in hammer throw with a mark of 64.31m, meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard 
  • Chris Campbell (JR) finished seventh in the long jump with a mark of 6.93m. Elliot Cummings (SR) took fourteenth with a mark of 6.71m 
  • Nick Rice (GR) finished third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.67 
 
Top Results Women
  • Paige Emnett (GR) finished fifth in hammer throw with a mark of 56.39m, meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard. Trista Fintel (JR) took ninth with a mark of 52.39 and Brooke Coulter (SR) took fourteenth with a mark of 51.13m 
  • Kassandra Stine (JR) finished fourteenth in javelin throw with a distance of 34.77m 
  • Kylie Ray (SR) took second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.53 meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard 
  • Jordan Taylor (SR) finished third in the 200m dash with a time of 23.96 meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard 
 
The Oilers will be back in action Saturday April 20 as they compete in the final day of the Jesse Owens Classic.
