Oilers Dominate at Hillsdale Wide Track Classic

Hillsdale, Mich.- The University of Findlay men's and women track and field team traveled to Hillsdale, Mich. to compete in the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic. After a long day of competing the Oilers came out with several notable finishes. Both teams won the event, the women finished with 195 points while the men had 198.  

Women's Results: 

  • Junior Ashley Sigmon finished third in high jump with a height of 1.63m. 

  • Senior Morgan Allman took second in the triple jump with a mark of 10.55m. Junior Katelyn Heath finished third with a mark of 10.46m. 

  • Senior Brooke Coulter finished third in shot put with a mark of 13.57. 

  • Freshman Colleen Steinmetz took second in the pole vault with a height of 3.90m hitting the NCAA Provisional Standard.  

  • Sophomore Ella Webster finished second in the mile run with a time of 5:05.34. 

  • Senior Kylie Ray finished second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.79 hitting the NCAA Provisional Standard. 

  • Senior Taylor Ivory took third in the 60m dash with a time of 7.94. 

  • Senior Kylie Ray won the 400m dash with a time of 55.92 and senior Jordan Taylor took second with a time of 56.64. Both Ray and Taylor met the NCAA Provisional Standard. Sophomore Leah Smith took third with a time of 57.474. 

  • Senior Taylor Ivory finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 25.56 and sophomore Mary Ellis took third with a time of 25.99. 

  • Senior Ava Beam won the 3000m run with a time of 10:22.23. 

Men's Results: 

  • Freshman Owen Ackerman took second in the high jump with a mark of 1.94m. 

  • Freshman Kage Hefner won pole vault with a height of 5.18m. Sophomore Nate Buschur took second with a mark of 4.81m and junior Conner Douglass finished third with a mark of 4.66m. Both Hefner and Buschur hit the NCAA Provisional Standard. 

  • Senior Chris Campbell took third in the long jump with a mark of 6.82m. 

  • Junior Eyan Wilson finished second in shot put with a throw of 17.31m meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard. 

  • Junior Leyton Nossa won the weight throw with a throw of 19.40m meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard.  

  • Sophomore Jaxen Durfey won the mile run with a time of 4:19.73. Freshman Benjamin Hall took second with a time of 4:22.27.  

  • Senior Stephen Powell won the 60m dash with a time of 7.01 and junior KJ Upshaw took second with a time of 7.04.  

The Oilers will be back in action Friday January 31st as they travel to University Park, Pa. to compete in the Penn State National Open.
