Findlay, Ohio — The University of Findlay volleyball team picked up a decisive home victory on Tuesday, Nov. 18, sweeping Thomas More 25–14, 25–11, 25–19 at the Croy Physical Education Center in the G-MAC Quarterfinals. With the postseason win, the Oilers improved to 23-4 overall and 13-2 in conference play, while the Saints ended their season at 11-15 and 7-8 in the G-MAC.
The Oilers controlled the match from the opening set, hitting an impressive .417 with 18 kills and only three errors, and followed with an equally dominant .433 hitting performance in the second frame.
Although Thomas More showed more resistance in the third set, Findlay's balanced attack, steady ball control, and consistent defensive pressure secured the sweep and kept the momentum firmly on their side.
Statistically, Findlay outperformed Thomas More in every major category, finishing with 49 kills to the Saints' 26, along with advantages in digs (47–29), assists (47–25), blocks (5–3), and aces (3–2).
Sophomore Grace Auer led the Oilers with a standout all-around performance, posting 16 kills, seven digs, and three blocks.
Senior Makenna Belcher added 12 kills on .524 hitting, while junior Lauren Foerster chipped in nine.
Senior setter Emma White guided the offense with exceptional poise, delivering 40 assists, and junior libero Hannah Miller anchored the back row with 17 digs.
With the dominant quarterfinal win, Findlay now advances to the G-MAC Semifinals, where they will look to continue their strong postseason run and push toward a conference title. The Oilers will await the results of the remaining quarterfinal matches tonight to determine their next opponent and semifinal location.
