Men's Golf Takes Third at Findlay Spring Invite

Richmond, Ky.- The University of Findlay men's golf team secured a third-place finish at the Findlay Spring Invite, which wrapped up on Tuesday, March 25. Hosting the event at Boone's Trace National Golf Club, the Oilers posted rounds of 279 (-9), 288 (E), and 283 (-5) for a 54-hole total of 850 (-14), marking the fifth-lowest score in program history. The tournament field featured nationally ranked opponents, including #18 Missouri S&T, who claimed the title, and #25 Missouri-St. Louis.

Junior Luke Metzger led the way for Findlay, earning a spot on the all-tournament team with a 54-hole total of 208 (-8). The Mason, Ohio native fired rounds of 72 (E), 68 (-4), and 68 (-4), matching his career-low score to par, which he previously set at the 2023 West Liberty Invitational. His performance marks the fifth-lowest 54-hole score in program history and his fifth top-10 finish of the season.

Sophomore Colin Schadek tied for fifth place, earning a spot on the all-tournament team with a season-low 54-hole total of 210 (-6). He opened with a stellar 65 (-7), followed by rounds of 73 (+1) and 72 (E) to cap off a strong performance.

The Oilers will be back in action March 31 and April 1 for the Findianapolis Intercollegiate. They will play host to the event in Laconia, Ind. at Chariot Run Golf Club.
