Grand Rapids, MI, Muncie, Ind.- The University of Findlay track and field teams split into two groups to compete in day one of a pair of meets. The first group traveled to Muncie, Ind. for the We Fly Challenge hosted by Ball State University. The second group traveled to Grand Rapids, MI to compete in the Davenport Invitational hosted by Davenport University. The Oilers had a strong showing on day one recording several top finishes.

Junior Leyton Nossa claimed second in the hammer throw with a mark of 59.69m advancing to number nine in the NCAA Division II Rankings. With this throw Nossa also meets the NCAA Provisional Standard. Junior Collin Warner takes fifth with a mark of 54.08m, senior Zac Belanich finishes sixth with a mark of 51.58m, and freshman Keyan Holston finishes 15th with a mark of 36.44m.
The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow April 12th as they take on day two of the We Fly Challenge and Davenport Invitational.
