Owensboro, Ky. – The University of Findlay men's tennis team got things going at the 2025 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament on Thursday, April 24 with a 4-0 victory over the Cedarville Yellow Jackets. Findlay, seeded third, has made it to at least the semifinal round of the tournament every year since joining the G-MAC in the 2017-18 season.
The event is being held at Centre Court in Owensboro, Kentucky for the seventh consecutive year.
During the regular season, the Oilers defeated the Yellow Jackets by a score of 5-2 but today, playing to clinch, UF asserted its' dominance with a blanking of CU.
Findlay's first point came in doubles where Clément Andrieu and
Runa Kagoshima teamed up to quickly dispatch of their opponent at third doubles, winning 6-1. Just six minutes later at first doubles,
Soh Kuyama and
Luigi Bove sealed the point for UF, winning 6-3.
Clément Andrieu was the first singles match to finish, winning a third singles 6-1, 6-0 to put the Oilers in front 2-0. Shortly after,
Matthis Veniard won at fifth singles 6-3, 6-1.
Leading 3-0, the Oilers needed a single point to earn the win and move on in the tournament.
Luigi Bove earned that point, clinching the match for Findlay with a 6-4, 6-2 win at second singles.

Findlay will now take on the No. 2 seed in the event, the Northwood University Timberwolves. That match will take place on Friday, April 25 at 2 pm EST.
