Findlay Oilers (19-8, 11-4 G-MAC) | #3 Seed
2025 Findlay Lacrosse Coaching Staff

At the conclusion of the regular season, the Oilers hold a 8-10 (.444) record with a 6-2 (.750) mark in conference play.

In conference play, the Oilers rank third with an average winning margin of 5.5 goals. They are scoring 14.0 goals per game while holding opponents to just 8.6.

Junior Tessa Chuba leads the UF offense. The reigning Great Midwest Attacker of the Year ranks second in the conference in goals per game, averaging 4.25 through eight games. She also leads the conference in total goals with 34 and tops the league in shots per game, averaging 9.63 — nearly one more than any other player. A native of Hartland, Mich., she is a force on both ends of the field, ranking second in the conference with 3.88 caused turnovers per game and fourth in draw controls, averaging 5.88 per game.

Sophomore Rebecca Chmiel plays a key role in Findlay's offense as the team's leader in assists. She averages 1.75 assists per game, ranking tenth in the conference. In addition to her playmaking, Chmiel is also a consistent scoring threat, ranking tenth in the league in shots per game with 5.25 attempts.

Findlay relies on a freshman duo in goal, splitting time between Caroline Weber and Josie Owens. Together, they have allowed just 58 goals in conference play. Owens and Weber rank second and third in the conference in save percentage, posting marks of .500 and .484, respectively. Both goalkeepers are averaging more than 3.75 saves per game.

With first-year head coach Beth Hemminger at the helm, Findlay is chasing its first conference title since 2019. The Oilers came heartbreakingly close last season, reaching the G-MAC Tournament Final before falling to Walsh by just one goal.

Quote from Head Coach Beth Hemminger
From where this team started to where we are now is a true testament to what Findlay lacrosse is all about. We knew this would be a rebuilding year after the talent we lost from last season, and we faced an extremely challenging start to the year. Throughout it all, I have been constantly reminded why I love and respect this group so much. They are resilient. They are relentless. And they have fully embraced every challenge thrown their way.

That's why we're heading into the semifinals — because this team thrives on adversity. I am in awe of what they have accomplished and even more excited about where they are going. It's an incredible thing to be a part of.

As we move forward, we need to continue focusing on the little things, making the most of every possession, and working to control the pace of the game. Every detail matters, and when we stay committed to doing the small things right, big things will continue to happen for this team.
