Track & Field Concludes Oliver Nikoloff Invite in Cincinnati

Cincinnati, Ohio- The University of Findlay track and field team traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio to wrap up the Oliver Nikoloff Invite on Saturday April 5. This meet showcased top talent from Division I and II. After a rainy day the Oilers came out with several notable finishes. 

Notable Finishes 

Women: 

  • Junior Ava Kiefer took third in the discus throw with a mark of 41.69m and senior Brooke Coulter finished fifth with a mark of 39.35m.  

  • Freshman Colleen Steinmetz won the pole vault after a jump of 4.05m hitting the NCAA Provisional Standard.  

  • Senior Brooke Coulter finished second in the shot put with a throw of 14.00m, meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard. Senior Kelsey Kennon took fifth with a mark of 13.04m. 

  • Sophomore Leah Smith won the 100m dash with a time of 11.64, meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard.  

  • Senior Taylor Ivory took fourth place in the 400m dash with a time of 55.68, meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard.  

  • Freshman Gloria Mengolo finished fifth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.30. 

  • Senior Kylie Ray would win the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.61 freshman Zanri Black took fourth with a time of 1:02.05. Both Ray and Black would meet the NCAA Provisional Standard.  

  • Senior Jordan Taylor finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 23.65 and sophomore Leah Smith would take fifth with a time of 23.99. Both Taylor and Smith would meet the NCAA Provisional Standard.  

Men: 

  • Senior Hunter Tresnan-Rieghard finished second in the discus throw after his throw of 49.51m. Junior Eyan Wilson took fourth with a mark of 46.86m. Tresnan-Rieghard would also take third in the shot put with a mark of 16.65m hitting the NCAA Provisional Standard.  

  • Sophomore Nate Buschur claimed second in pole vault with a mark of 4.86m hitting the NCAA Provisional Standard.  

  • Freshman Owen Ackerman finished second in high jump after a mark of 2.01m. Senior Shakur Payton took fourth with a mark of 2.01m. 

  • Senior Mondra Curry would claim second in triple jump with a mark of 13.64m. 

  • Junior KJ Upshaw would take third in the 100m dash with a time of 10.75. 

  • Senior Simon Derstine finished fourth in the 800m run with a time of 1:50.94 meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard.  

  • Junior Sherron Jones finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 21.25 and senior Hassan Sesay took fifth with a time of 22.26.  

  • Senior Noah Fisher placed second in the 5000m run with a time of 14:23.36 and senior Jordan Foster took third with a time of 14:25.37. 

The Oilers will be back in action Friday April 11 as they travel to Muncie, Ind. to compete in day one of the We Fly Challenge hosted by Ball State.
