Hillsdale, Mich. / Charlottesville, Va. - The University of Findlay track and field teams split their squad to continue competition on Friday, April 17. A contingent of Oilers competed at Hillsdale College for day two of the 2026 Gina Relays, while other athletes took on top-tier talent at the University of Virginia's Virginia Challenge.
The highlight of Friday's action was the five Findlay athletes who achieved NCAA Division II Provisional Standards at the Virginia Challenge.
Notable Results - Virginia Challenge
Women
- Colleen Steinmetz (So.) placed 4th in the pole vault invite section with a personal-best clearance of 4.13m (13-6.5), easily clearing the NCAA Provisional Standard of 3.79m, and posting the fourth-best mark in DII this year.
- Victoria Harvey (So.) won the open section of the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.00m (13-1.5) and also earning an NCAA Provisional Standard mark.
- Zanri Black (So.) finished 4th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.02, meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard.
- Taylor Aldredge (Fr.) tied for 4th in the high jump, clearing a personal-best 1.67m (5-5.75) and just narrowly missing the provisional standard of 1.68m.
- Leah Smith (Jr.) placed 5th in the 100m dash finals with a time of 11.73 after qualifying 8th in the prelims (11.74).
- Erin Moran (So.) took 11th in the pole vault, posting a personal-best mark of 3.75m (12-3.5).
Men
- Collin Warner (Sr.) placed 8th in the hammer throw with a mark of 59.38m (194-10), surpassing the NCAA Provisional Standard of 57.04m.
- Eyan Wilson (Jr.) secured 10th in the shot put with a personal-best toss of 17.71m (58-1.25), easily earning an NCAA Provisional Standard mark, and moving to 13th in the country in the event.
- K.J. Upshaw (Sr.) finished 7th in the 100m dash finals with a time of 10.68 after qualifying 7th in the prelims (10.69).
- Omari Welch-Guytan (Sr.) finished 17th in the long jump, leaping a personal-best 7.06m (23-2).
- Evan Kreais (So.) placed 20th in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 7.04m (23-1.25).
- Jack Newlove (Fr.) placed 26th in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 54.49.

- Lilly Schiefer (Fr.) placed 8th in the 1500m (Open) with a time of 5:10.52, securing 1 point.
Men
- TJ Budic (Fr.) claimed victory in the 800m (Open), crossing the finish line in 1:54.39 to score 10 points.
- Zach Wiedeman (Fr.) finished 4th in the 1500m (Open) with a time of 4:08.99 to earn 5 points.
- Brayden Cleveland (Fr.) placed 7th in the 1500m (Championship) with a time of 3:59.38, adding 2 points.
- Cordel Runkle (Fr.) took 8th in the 800m (Open) with a time of 1:58.17, picking up 1 point.
