Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay track and field team opened their indoor season while hosting the Oiler Open on December 4th and 5th. After two full days of competition, the Oilers recorded numerous top finishes and strong early-season performances. The women and men teams captured the team titles with scores of 218 and 221, respectively.
Also competing today at the SVSU Holiday Open in Saginaw, Michigan was
Ava Beam who was invited to run in the 5000 meter run. She finished fourth in that event with a time of 17:46.45.
Women's Results
Senior
Ava Kiefer placed second in the weight throw with a mark of 14.71m.
Sophomore
Colleen Steinmetz won the pole vault with a clearance of 4.02m, achieving the NCAA Provisional Standard. Freshman
Brayden Snider (3.92m) and junior
Victoria Harvey (3.82m) followed in second and third place, both also reaching the NCAA Provisional Standard.
Senior
Jessica Hoban claimed first place in the triple jump with a distance of 12.01m, earning an NCAA Provisional Standard.
Sophomore
Gloria Mengolo won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.73 seconds.
Junior
Leah Smith won both the 60-meter dash (7.46) and the 200-meter dash (24.62), with each performance reaching the NCAA Provisional Standard.
Freshman
Katharina Rupp took first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.94, while junior
Mary Ellis placed second in 56.88.
Sophomore
Emma Hammer won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.95, followed by junior Hadley Schulz in second at 2:24.22.
Sophomore
Helen Unger finished second in the indoor pentathlon with a total of 3363 points, achieving the NCAA Provisional Standard.

Eyan Wilson won the shot put with a throw of 18.04m, reaching the 2025 NCAA Provisional Standard.

Shakur Payton secured first place in the high jump with a clearance of 2.10m, achieving the 2025 NCAA Provisional Standard.

Owen Ackerman won the long jump with a mark of 6.87m.

Leyton Nossa claimed the weight throw title with a mark of 18.93m, earning the NCAA Provisional Standard.

Julian Griffin won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.04 seconds, meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard.
Senior K.J. Upshaw won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.80, achieving the NCAA Provisional Standard. He also finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.48.
Sophomore
Brandon Richardson won the 400-meter dash in 50.12.

Caden Ehgotz won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.46.
Sophomore Camden St. John placed second overall in the heptathlon with a score of 4550.
Senior
Sherron Jones won the 200-meter dash in 22.10.
Freshman
Evan Combs won the pole vault with a clearance of 5.07m, earning the NCAA Provisional Standard. Freshman
Panashe Chavi also reached the NCAA Provisional Standard with a vault of 4.87m.
The Oilers will be back in action on January 16th as they host the Findlay Alumni Classic.
