Ashland, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams competed in their first day of action at the 2025 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships being held on Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, March 1. After day one, the Oilers had several notable finishes. The men's team is currently in the lead with 62.50 points. While the women's team is sitting fifth with 17 points.
Women Notable Results:
- Senior Ava Beam would take fifth in the 5000 run with a time of 17:49.34 recording four points for the Oilers.
- Junior Ashley Sigmon finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.56m after taking third last year.
- The 4000 distance medley relay team consisting of senior Hailey Wilson, freshman Zanri Black, senior Bailey Chenevey, and sophomore Ella Webster finished runner up with a time of 11:59.16 hitting the NCAA Provisional Standard.
Men Notable Results:
- Senior Chris Campbell captured the G-MAC title for long jump with a mark of 7.35m after finishing fifth in this event last year. With this jump Campbell would also hit the NCAA Provisional Standard. Senior Omari Welch-Guytan locked in third with a mark of 7.03m.
- Sophomore Nathan Buschur would claim second place in pole vault with a height of 5.07m hitting the NCAA provisional standard.
- Junior Leyton Nossa claimed third in the weight throw with a mark of 19.94m hitting the NCAA Provisional Standard.
- Senior Noah Fisher finished runner up in 5000m run with a time of 14:45.29 after claiming the G-MAC title last year. While senior Zac Britton claimed third with a time of 14:45.34.
- The 4000 distance medley relay team consisting of senior Simon Derstine, junior Sherron Jones, sophomore Jaxen Durfey, and senior Jordan Foster clinched the G-MAC title with a time of 9:46.66 hitting the NCAA Provisional Standard.
