Ashland, Ohio- The University of Findlay track and field teams traveled to Ashland, Ohio to compete in the final day of the Jud Logan Light Giver Invite on Saturday, Feb. 8.  This meet showcased top talent from the Division I, II, and III level. After a long day of competition, the Oilers recorded several notable finishes.  

Notable Finishes  

Women: 

• Junior Ashley Sigmon took tenth in the long jump with a mark of 5.29m. Sigmon also had a three-way tie for seventh in high jump with a mark of 1.60m. 

• Senior Brooke Coulter won the shot put with a mark of 14.13m hitting the NCAA Provisional Standard. Senior Kelsey Kennon took third with a mark of 13.28m and junior Ava Kiefer finished 11th with a mark of 12.32m. 

• Freshman Helen Unger finished fourth in the 400m dash with a time of 59.31. Senior Mackenzie Schneider took 11th with a time of 1:00.76. 

• Sophomore Ella Webster finished fourth in the 1 mile run with a time of 4:59.80. Senior Hailey Wilson took sixth with a time of 5:01.18 and senior Ava Beam finished 12th with a time of 5:05.24. 

• Senior Taylor Ivory finished tenth in the invite section of the 400m dash with a time of 57.29 and sophomore Mary Ellis took 12th with a time of 57.37. 

• Senior Kylie Ray won the 800m run with a time of 2:08.80 hitting the NCAA Provisional Standard. Senior Bailey Chenevey finished eighth with a time of 2:16.14 and freshman Emma Hammer took 14th with a time of 2:20.14.  

• Junior Sydney Swan finished 12th in the 3000 run with a time of 10:28.86.  

• The 4x400m relay team consisting of sophomore Mary Ellis, freshman Helen Unger, senior Taylor Ivory, and freshman Zanri Black finished fifth with a time of 3:56.49.  

Men: 

• Senior Omari Welch-Guytan took tenth in the long jump with a mark of 6.54m. 

• Senior Eric Hurtt finished ninth in shot put with a mark of 14.74m. 

• Junior Eyan Wilson won the elite section of shot put with a mark of 17.71m and senior Hunter Tresnan-Rieghard finished sixth with a mark of 16.40m. Both Wilson and Tresnan-Rieghard hit the NCAA Provisional Standard.  

• Sophomore Nate Buschur finished seventh in the elite section of pole vault with a mark of 4.81m and freshman Kage Hefner tied for ninth with a mark of 4.81m. Both Buschur and Hefner met the NCAA Provisional Standard. 

• Freshman Camden St John tied for ninth in high jump with a mark of 1.90m and freshman Evan Kreais tied for 11th with a mark of 1.90m.  

• Senior Hassan Sesay finished 11th in the 400m dash with a time of 51.28 

• Senior Jordan Foster finished third in the 1 mile run with a time of 4:03.93. Senior Simon Derstine took fourth with a time of 4:04.62. Both Foster and Derstine met the NCAA Provisional Standard. Sophomore Jaxon Durfey finished 11th with a time of 4:15.64 

• Junior KJ Upshaw finished eighth in the 60m dash with a time of 6.95. 

• Junior Sherron Jones finished 11th in the elite section of the 400m dash with a time of 49.42.  

• Senior Noah Fisher finished third in the 3000m run with a time of 8:16.34. Senior Zac Britton took ninth with a time of 8:33.01 and freshman Benjamin Hall finished tenth with a time of 8:33.07. 

• The 4x400 team consisting of sophomore Brandon Richardson, senior Hassan Sesay, senior Dylan Reason, and junior Sherron Jones took third place with a time of 3:20.41. 

The Oilers will be back in action Friday Feb. 14 as they travel to Allendale, Mich. to compete in the GVSU Big Meet.
