Track & Field Splits Up for Friday Competition at Tennessee & Grand Valley State

Knoxville, Tenn. / Allendale, Mich.- The University of Findlay track and field teams competed at two meets on Friday, April 10, traveling to the Tennessee Invite, hosted by the University of Tennessee, and the Al Owens Classic, hosted by Grand Valley State University.

Notable Results - Tennessee Invite

Zanri Black (So.) placed 2nd in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 59.73, setting a new personal best, the third best time in program history, ranking eleventh in Division II, and earning an NCAA Provisional Standard mark.
Leah Smith (Jr.) finished 8th in the women's 200m with a time of 23.89, meeting the NCAA Provisional Standard.
Sherron Jones (Sr.) placed 13th in the men's 200m with a season-best time of 21.30.
Jack Newlove (Fr.) took 17th in the men's 400 hurdles with a personal-best time of 55.07.

Notable Results - Al Owens Classic

Leyton Nossa (Sr.) won the men's open hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 63.76m, ranking 9th in Division II and earning an NCAA Provisional Standard.
Collin Warner (Sr.) finished 2nd in the men's open hammer throw with a mark of 58.18m, earning an NCAA Provisional Standard.
Ava Kiefer (Sr.) placed 7th in the women's open hammer throw with a mark of 39.78m.
Charles Schmiesing (So.) placed 7th in the men's open hammer throw with a mark of 50.81m.

Findlay will continue its split weekend on Saturday, April 11, competing at the Tennessee Invite, Bison Outdoor Classic, Al Owens Classic, and Norse Track Invitational.
