Oilers Deliver Breakout Performances in Multi-Meet Weekend

Knoxville, Tenn. / Lewisburg, Pa. / Allendale, Mich. / Alexandria Ky.- The University of Findlay track and field teams competed across the country on Saturday, April 11, taking part in four different meets over the weekend. Splitting up by event group, the Oilers turned in a strong day, recording two program records and notching eight NCAA provisional marks.

Notable Results - Bison Outdoor Classic

Claire Bachman (Sr.) placed fourth in the women's 10,000m with a time of 38:34.72.
Benjamin Hall (So.) finished fourth in the men's 3000m steeplechase in 9:01.87, setting a program record and hitting an NCAA provisional standard. That time is the eleventh fastest in Division II this season.
Lauren Sattler (So.) placed 18th in the women's 1500m with a time of 4:29.68, setting a program record.

Notable Results - Norse Track Invitational

Taylor Aldredge (Fr.) placed first in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.60m and added a fifth-place finish in the women's long jump at 5.17m.
Shakur Payton (Sr.) won the men's high jump with a mark of 1.95m.
Jessica Hoban (Sr.) placed first in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.31m.
Owen Ackerman (So.) finished second in the men's high jump at 1.90m and also took second in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.68m.
Evan Kreais (So.) placed third in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.59m and added a fourth-place finish in the men's high jump at 1.85m.
Omari Welch-Guytan (Sr.) finished fifth in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.51m.

Notable Results - Tennessee Invite

Zanri Black (So.), Mary Ellis (Jr.), Katharina Rupp (Fr.), and Leah Smith (Jr.) placed third in the women's 4x400 relay with a time of 3:40.50, achieving an NCAA provisional standard. That time is the second fastest in Division II this season.
Sherron Jones (Sr.), Brandon Richardson (Jr.), Jack Newlove (Fr.), and Izaki Wampeti (Fr.) finished third in the men's 4x400 relay with a time of 3:13.15.
KJ Upshaw (Sr.), Brandon Richardson (Jr.), Tyler Thompson (Fr.), and Sherron Jones (Sr.) placed sixth in the men's 4x100 relay with a time of 40.75.
Leah Smith (Jr.) finished 10th in the women's 100m with a time of 11.75.
Mary Ellis (Jr.) placed 11th in the women's 400m with a time of 55.56, recording a personal best.

Notable Results - Al Owens Classic

Colleen Steinmetz (So.) placed first in the women's open pole vault with a mark of 4.12m, earning an NCAA provisional mark. That is the third best mark in Division II this season.
Evan Combs (Fr.) won the men's open pole vault with a mark of 5.12m, meeting the NCAA provisional standard. That mark is the 14th best in Division II this season.
Victoria Harvey (Jr.) finished second in the women's open pole vault with a mark of 3.97m, recording an NCAA provisional mark.
Alex Mutchler (Sr.) placed second in the men's open pole vault with a mark of 4.97m, earning an NCAA provisional mark.
Eyan Wilson (Sr.) finished second in the men's invitational shot put with a mark of 17.46m, hitting the NCAA provisional standard.
Nathan Buschur (Jr.) placed third in the men's open pole vault with a mark of 4.97m, recording an NCAA provisional mark.
Charles Schmiesing (So.) finished third in the men's open shot put with a mark of 15.05m.
Ava Kiefer (Sr.) placed third in the women's open shot put with a mark of 12.25m.
Erin Moran (So.) finished fourth in the women's open pole vault with a mark of 3.67m.
Maci Ames (Jr.) placed fifth in the women's open pole vault with a mark of 3.52m.
Brenna McDonald (Fr.) finished fifth in the women's open shot put with a mark of 11.85m.

Findlay will return to action on Friday, April 17, once again splitting across multiple meets, including the "GINA" Relays hosted by Hillsdale College and the Virginia Challenge hosted by the University of Virginia.
