Track & Field Continues Action on Day Two of G-MAC Outdoor Championships

Hillsdale, Mich.- The University of Findlay track and field teams continued competition on day two of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday, April 30. After two days of action, the women's team sits in third place, while the men currently rank fourth.

Notable Results
Men
  • Owen Ackerman (So.) placed first in the high jump with a mark of 2.07 meters, meeting the NCAA provisional standard.
  • Benjamin Hall (So.) finished first in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:04.32, meeting the NCAA provisional standard.
  • Eyan Wilson (Sr.) took second in the shot put with a throw of 17.47 meters, meeting the NCAA provisional standard.
  • Evan Kreais (So.) placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 7.24 meters.
  • Sherron Jones (Sr.) qualified fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.74 and second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.29.
  • KJ Upshaw (Sr.) qualified second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.56.
Women
  • Helen Unger (So.) placed third in the long jump with a mark of 5.57 meters.
  • Jessica Hoban (Sr.) finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.55 meters.
  • Victoria Harvey (Jr.) took second in the pole vault with a mark of 4.08 meters, meeting the NCAA provisional standard.
  • Colleen Steinmetz (So.) placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.98 meters, meeting the NCAA provisional standard.
  • Brayden Snider (Fr.) finished fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.98 meters, meeting the NCAA provisional standard.
  • Erin Moran (So.) tied for fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.83 meters, meeting the NCAA provisional standard. 
  • Lauren Sattler (So.) qualified first in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:46.35.
  • Elyza Long (Fr.) qualified fifth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:48.47.
  • Katharina Rupp (Fr.) qualified second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.41.
  • Mary Ellis (Jr.) qualified fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.47.
  • Leah Smith (Jr.) qualified first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.63 (defending champion) and third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.62, meeting the NCAA provisional standard.
  • Zanri Black (So.) qualified first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.36, meeting the NCAA provisional standard.
  • Helen Unger (So.) qualified fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.92.

The Oilers are back in action Friday, May 1 for the final day of action.
