Findlay, OH – The University of Findlay men's soccer team faced the Cedarville Yellow Jackets at DeHaven Field on Thursday, October 8, 2026. The Oiler's would lead the match but ultimately end up losing with a final score of 2-1 after two late goals from the Yellow Jackets, handing the Oilers their first home loss since September 21, 2024. This loss brings the Oiler's record to 7-3-1 (4-3-1), while the Yellow Jackets move to 6-6-1 (6-3-1).
Findlay took an early 1-0 lead when senior Leo Egerer scored with a goal after slipping a ball just past the Cedarville goalkeeper, earning him his third of the season. The goal was assisted by freshman Masyn Buehrer, his first assist of his career.
With less than ten minutes to play in the second half of play, the Yellow Jackets found the back of the net with a goal in the 85th minute, leveling the match 1-1.
Just four minutes later, the Yellow Jackets found the net for a second time in the 89th minute from a set piece, sinking the Oilers, 2-1. This would give them their first loss at home in over two years.
Cedarville would lead Findlay in shots on the day, 11-8, while Findlay outdueled them in corner kicks, 3-2. Senior goalkeeper Ethan Hensley finished the match with four saves.
The Oilers return to play on Saturday, October 10, at DeHaven Field in a rematch with the Ashland Eagles just a week after their first meeting of the season.
