Track & Field Claims Pair of Third-Place Team Finishes at G-MAC Outdoor Championships

Hillsdale, Mich.- The University of Findlay track and field teams wrapped up the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on Friday, May 1. Both the men's and women's team finished third as Tiffin won the men's title and Hillsdale won the women's title.

Men

KJ Upshaw (Sr.), Brandon Richardson (Jr.), Tyler Thompson (Fr.), and Sherron Jones (Sr.) won the 4x100 relay in 40.37 seconds, earning an NCAA provisional mark and first team all-conference honors.
Sherron Jones (Sr.) won the 200-meter dash in 21.07 seconds, earning an NCAA provisional mark and first team all-conference honors.
Alex Mutchler (Sr.) finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 5.22m, earning an NCAA provisional mark and second team all-conference honors.
KJ Upshaw (Sr.) placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.51, earning second team all-conference honors.

Nathan Buschur (Jr.) placed eighth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.87m, earning an NCAA provisional mark.

Women

Jessica Hoban (Sr.) finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 12.09m, earning an NCAA provisional mark and first team all-conference honors.
Leah Smith (Jr.) won the 100-meter dash in 11.62 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 24.09 seconds, earning NCAA provisional marks and first team all-conference honors in both events.
Zanri Black (So.) finished first in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.25, earning first team all-conference honors, and also placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.63.
Zanri Black (So.), Mary Ellis (Jr.), Katharina Rupp (Fr.), and Leah Smith (Jr.) finished first in the 4x400 relay in 3:42.19, earning an NCAA provisional mark and first team all-conference honors.
Katharina Rupp (Fr.) finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.10, earning an NCAA provisional mark and second team all-conference honors.
Lauren Sattler (So.) placed third in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:39.46.

Findlay will return to action as they turn their attention to the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships, set for May 21–23 in Emporia, Kansas.
