Jim graduated from Olmsted Falls High School in 1976 and came to Findlay College as a dual athlete in Baseball and Football. He had success in both, becoming a three-year football letterman and a four year baseball letterman. As a Linebacker in football, Jim was an All-HBC and District 22 selection and his coaching staff named him as their Most Valuable Defensive Lineman. He helped lead the Oilers to the 1979 NAIA National Football Title. One the baseball diamond, Jim received the “Coaches Award” following a fine career as a First and Third baseman. After enjoying a fine college playing career in two sports, Jim’s teaching/coaching career has exceeded that. Ji has coached numerous high school sports, but football has been where he has left his mark. In 1988, he was hired to coach his alma mater, Olmstead Fall. His teams have compiled a record of 143-65, been to the State Playoffs, 9 times, won the conference (SWC) title 6 times, and won the OHSAA State Title in 2000. Jim has served as the President of the Greater Cleveland Football Coaches Association and been selected to coach on the Big 33 Staff on two different occasions. He is also a past president of the Olmsted Falls Education Association. Jim graduated from Findlay College in 1980 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minor in Education. He later received his Master’s Degree in Education from Cleveland State University. He currently resides in Olmsted Falls, Ohio with his wife Terry. They have two children – Meaghan and Ben.
