Hall of Fame
Rick Brunswick was a member of a state championship basketball team at Marion Local High School, and he brought that winning philosophy with him to Findlay College. Brunswick’s competitive nature and work ethic enabled him to excel both on the basketball court and in the classroom at Findlay. He was named a team captain twice, and earned both National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-District 22 and All-Hoosier Buckeye Conference honors during the 1977-78 and 1978-79 seasons. Brunswick, a point guard, scored 853 points during his Findlay College career, leading the Oilers with 426 points during his junior season. An outstanding student, Brunswick was nominated for the NAIA’s Emil S. Listen Award during his junior season as the top student-athlete in District 22. A member of the Marketing Club, Brunswick was named Marketing Student of the Year in 1978. He then received the Findlay College Founder’s Son Award at graduation. Brunswick has held several management and consulting positions since leaving Findlay College, and earned his MBA from Ashland University in 1987. He is currently the Director of Purchasing and Materials for the Marion Area Health Center Smith Clinic. He has also served as a United Way campaign volunteer, and as a YMCA and American Youth Basketball Tour coach for his children Matthew, Ryan, Jason and Tina. Brunswick and his wife, Marlene, reside in Forest, Ohio.
