Every good ship has a good captain. Paul Trina was the captain of what became an NAIA football powerhouse at Findlay College in the late 1970’s. Paul was the starting quarterback for 3 years including 1978, when the Oilers were the National Runners-Up, and in 1979 when the Oilers captured the NAIA National Football Championship. He was a three-year letterman, an all-Hoosier-Buckeye Conference selection, and ended his career as a starter with a record of 27-4-2. He passed for 37 touchdowns and completed over 60% of his passes. He was named the student-athlete of the year in 1980 at Findlay College and as an Academic All-American the same year. He was an outstanding baseball player at FC. Paul was a two-year letter winner and led the team in hitting in 1978. Today, Paul is the Athletic Director of the Warren City School System, including Warren Harding High School. He is responsible for over 90 coaches in his school system and has taught for several years in the Warren system. Paul graduated with honors from Findlay College with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 1980. He later went on to his master’s in Sports Administration from Ohio University and a second master’s degree from Youngstown State in Educational Administration. Paul and his wife Lorraine reside in Cortland, Ohio with their three children.
