Tammy (Lorton) Nelson was a standout on the Oilers women’s basketball team from 1989-92. She was a first team all-National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) District 22 pick during the 1991-92 campaign and holds the school record for assists per game in a career at 3.9.

Nelson is ranked third all-time at Findlay with 392 career assists and ranks sixth all-time with 463 career field goals. Her 1,195 career points is the 13th-highest mark in program history and her 393 points scored during the 1990-91 campaign ranks 25th all-time.

Nelson also ranks seventh all-time at Findlay with 186 career steals and averaged 12.2 points, 3.9 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game during her tenure with the program.
